like sleeping on plastic!
I bought this because i wanted to keep my mattress clean and also because I am allergic to dust mites. Sleeping on this made me feel hot like I was sleeping on a plastic sheet and even worse this product can not protect against dust mites because it does not go all around the mattress like a zippered cover does.
This product does not meet its claims, try a different one.
Good Investment!
We purchased this item along with our new mattress set back in March 2011. We have been extremely pleased with the product to date. I have washed/dried it multiple times following the directions of the manufacturer. Although, I do have to send it through a second spin cycle so that it doesn't enter the dryer dripping,(But that may be due to the crappy high-end efficiency washer we have...that's another story). It has proven to be water proof as I literally tested it by pouring 2 ounces of water on it and let it sit a few minutes, while keeping a folded towel underneath. The towel stayed completely dry. We also haven't had any issues of it causing us to overheat or sweat during the night and my honey is pretty hot natured guy. No noise or crinkly plastic sounds as we had with other waterproof mattress protectors. It's thin and the terry cloth top is soft. Since we are so pleased with this product we are purchasing another via Amazon at half the cost we paid at the mattress...
