Pricey but comfortable.
The relatives were coming and I decided no way am I wasting my money on another one of those inflatable mattresses only to have it go flat in the middle of the night. A regular bed would be too big and bulky and hard to store when not in use so this folding foam bed was the best option. This particular bed cost more but it is thicker than the others and it is 80" long which is really nice so your feet don't hang over the edge. I have to say it is really comfortable, much better than the couch or the sleeper sofa. I needed it quickly so I paid an extra $30 for "expedited" shipping. That was a rip off, I thought that meant it would get here quicker but it was still shipped regular ground shipping by truck. Apparently "expedited" means instead of waiting a week to pull your order, they get started on it the day after you order it. It took 8 days for it to arrive. In summary, the mattress is great, the price is high, the shipping price sucked and it took 8 days to get here.

Shiki Futon!!
First, I was very impressed with the small packaging in which the futon pad arrived at my place. I will say that the design is great. It is VERY lightweight, which is really nice. The three pieces of padding can be removed from the brown cover if one should desire to wash the covers, although I have not had to do this yet. When it's folded up into all three, it doesn't really act very well as a floor seat. However if only two of the sides are folded and the remaining side is left upright, it is kind of like a very low-to-the-ground couch. Also, it is very aesthetically simple and pleasing.
This is probably worth about $160 for what it is worth, but so far it has been good for sleeping so I gave it the full five stars. Good job designers!
Sleeps well, great purchase
We purchased this shikibuton for a guest bedroom. We wanted a bed that can easily be stored away to give us extra room when we do not have guests. We purchased some foldable bedframes to go with them. The shikibuton was exactly what we wanted. Our first guests, couple in their 60s, liked sleeping on it and had no complaints. I tried it out as well and it was comfortable - on the hard side but I like hard mattresses. The bedframes are away in the attic and the shikibuton is folded up and, at times, unfolded for our kids to play on.
