Just what I wanted!
I've lived most of my life in East Asia and I love sleeping on a firm mattress with just a little padding. I have chronic lower back pain and nothing sets it off like a soggy mattress and sleeping on this mattress is like sleeping in heaven! The first morning when I woke up, I did not want to get out of bed! I put it on a simple wooden platform frame, and the rest is history.

nice for price
Nice high loft mattress. Seems like quality stiching and tufting. So far it exceeds my expectations. I use it in the Asian manor (it's rolled up and put away each day) it's a little fuffy for this but on a western frame it works well.
great mattress, great price
We purchased this for our young son's bed. I wanted something that was not covered in chemicals or made with chemicals, that was natural, slightly firm and comfy yet affordable. My son wanted a bed like ours, which has an older Japanese style futon, cotton and wool inside, cotton covering outside, not like those found on most futons. We now are looking at possibly buying a new one for our bed, ours is beat. Technically this style is to be used on the floor, Japanese style, folded out of the way every day and unfolded every night, not on a bed frame. But we use it in a platform bed frame and every week I flip it around end over end so it stays as even as possible after 1 1/2 years it is still in good shape, still comfy (I have slept on it when my son crawls into bed with his dad before I get up to bed!) and should last us a very long time. I recommend buying a vinyl backed mattress cover as this is not a plastic protected mattress!
