Very pleased with bed
Bought two of these beds. Very easy to put together. If something doesn't line up right or if the screw holes don't appear to be in the right place, then you need to turn one of the parts over or you have the wrong piece. In particular, the center support only goes in smoothly one way. I couldn't believe turning it would make a difference, but it did. The bed is pine, so it is a soft wood with some knots and imperfections, but it shined up beautifully with a Minwax combination stain and polyurethane. Now I have a smooth, glossy finish. The bed is plenty high and no more need for costly mattresses! I also put four of the matching pull-out drawers underneath. You can use four drawers even if your bed has one side against the wall by using some small C clamps from any hardware store to clamp the drawers into sets of two, so that when you pull the one in the front, the back one comes out too.

Great Bed
I bought this bed for one of my children. They previously had a loft platform bed, so I was able to use the same mattress. It was easy to assemble and easy to stain. It is very good and sturdy. It's all wood, no particle board here. This bed will last a long time.
A very nice bed for the price
The reason I bought this was because I wanted to stain the bed in the color of my choice instead of trying to match colors in the stores or online. Cherry is different for different manufacturers, it seems. It was fairly simple to put together even though they gave illustrations for the full size bed.

I like that this is made of solid wood, it's sturdy and it really looks nice now that I've spruced it up with some color.

I bought this for my 3 year old and the height is a little higher than I'd like normally, but it will serve her very well and last her through the years.

Shipping was fast (but an email letting me know it was shipped with shipping numbers would have been nice) and it was not overly expensive to ship.

Over all, I'm very happy with this bed and the vender.

beautifully simple solid wood bed
The bed is well designed. It's simple to set up, slats stay firmly in place, and the platform is very solid. Three coats of Zinzer's Bullseye (lightly sand between coats!) and the cherry wood is beautiful. At a price that is less than a particle board veneer bed from a popular home furnishing store, and hand-made in USA, this was an easy choice.

The not so good
- had to re-drill 3 or 4 misaligned holes
- the instructions are minimalistic (more illustrations definitely needed)
- can feel the support slats through the mattress

Overall, this is a fairly good product. There were some quality control issues, but nothing a drill couldn't fix. The instructions are poorly written. To be honest, I've seen better chinese/translated instructions. If you wrestle with it enough, you'll get it right, although this extends assembly time. The routered/grooved areas need to be sanded before finishing also. What's nice about this is putting on your own stain and finish to make it really match wherever it's going. I gave it four stars because it's very possible to end up with a quality product if you put a little work into it. I spent 3 evenings after work finishing and assembling it.

Excellent!
This bed is great! It's high, easy to assemble and very very sturdy. I stained it a dark cherry color and glossed it. It looks like a $500 bed now! The bed is also easy to disassemble if I ever want to move it out of the room it's in now.

A solid bed fraemneeds more hardware
Ok i bought this so i could put a memory foam matress on it.I come to find out that it needs a flat surface to sit on or the warranty will be void on my matress so i had to buy plywwood to put over the slats on this bed.The lady i talked to at room doctor said to use a pice of cardboard.

The only real gripe i have is how the slats are installed.They are just layed in with out being secured with a nail or screw.They use nylon straps to hold them with tension betweeen blocks on the frame.As stated above if you use a memory foam matress forget about this bed you need a flat surface for it to sit on.If you are using any memory foam matress ask what the matress needs to be on before you buy a bed frame as it may void your warranty.

Excellent wood bed and drawer set
Very sturdy, affordable, and easy-to-assemble all-wood bed in a simple, pleasing, platform design. My only complaint was both the bed and drawers were missing some hardware. However, I called the manufacturer's number on the box and they Fed-exed the parts within 3 days. So, no real complaints.

Superior Product
My mattress arrived much earlier than expected!

I have prefered to sleep on the floor for the past 10 years and I am a side sleeper. Traditional mattresses make my back ache. My current apartment has concrete floors with thin carpet installed. I purchased this mattress after reading all the reviews and am 100% satisfied with it in every regard. Additionally, it fits in perfectly with my Asian themed bedroom. As other reviewers indicated, it arrives vacuum packed and resumes it's normal shape and size upon taking it out of the sealed bag. The outer cardboard box had normal shipping/handling dents, but was totally intact. There was no odor that other reviewers mentioned. I give this mattress a score of 100% on everything: exactly as described, quality, comfort, and usefullness. The stitching is well done and should hold up indefinitely. Each section has its own zipper and since the cover is polyester, it can possibly be gently washed in cool water. Likewise, the foam pieces...

Tri-fold mattress
This arrived vacuum-sealed in a package so compact, I thought they sent me the wrong item at first. However as soon as you unwrap it, it inflates to normal size (3x27x75). It made my shiki futon even more comfortable than a regular bed mattress. After 1 month of use, there is no deforming at all.

I still think heavier-than-average people wouldn't want to sleep on this, but it's perfect if you weigh under 150 lbs or so.
Shikibuton
I bought this shikibuton while moving out of a dorm and into a house, as I had no bed of my own and didn't feel like buying/lugging a whole bed into my new place. The shikibuton is surprisingly soft, not as soft as a regular floor futon, but more firm. It is a bit short; I'm 5'8, and with pillows added I just barely fit stretched out. It folds up nicely as well. At first it does have a strong chemical odor which seems to have bothered other purchasers, but it doesn't bother me, and it goes away in time. It's also more absorbent than one would think. As for delivery, it reached me in time and in good shape, though unwrapping it from the plastic is an adventure. An excellent buy, overall, one I'm glad I made.

Speedy delivery, good value, misleading advertising
The bed arrived at my doorstep in an impressive four days, and is a descent product for the price. It came in one very heavy carton and it took my husband less than an hour to assemble. Once assembled, the bed has pleasing clean lines that remind me of Scandinavian furniture--though it could take on other character, depending on how you stain it. The wood is nearly white with a slight yellow yellowish cast, as expected of poplar. Five stars for amazing delivery and four stars for good value for price.

However, I must severely downgrade this product for misleading advertising. The ad reads, "...smooth, clean, unfinished poplar hardwood, not pine." First of all, the wood is actually rough, particularly at the board ends, and not be "beautiful as is". Be prepared to sand it well if you want a beautiful bed; and finish it with stain, paint or "Danish oil" for smoothness and protection.

Good service and product for the price
This is a great product for the price. The item was shipped promptly and arrived in good condition. No nasty surprises. It was also very easy to assemble. It took us less than two hours to put together. The wood is light, yet strong and didn't crack or chip during assembly. The bed has a smooth finish, and makes a simple and pleasing addition to the room. I did some comparison shopping at local stores and found this to be a great buy for the price. Plus, the seller's promptness made the whole experience a good one.

Nicely designed, easy to assemble.
This bed is SOLID oak, except for the slats that the mattress rests upon and the center support beam that give additional support to the slats.

Well engineered and easily assembled.

Two concerns:

(1) I weight 240lbs at 6'3". Larger beds have a center support rail that splits the bed long-wise, which is necessary for the larger beds and thus longer slats. The problem is that the center support is not strong enough and sags. I built a small center support that goes from the center of the rail support to the floor, and now it does not sag.

(2) Almost silent, but not quite. It still creaks, but very little. Long ways motions, from headboard to foot board direction ARE almost silent. It's side to side motions that make a little noise, but it's not really noticeable. It groans a little, but doesn't squeak. It's does not keep me awake or wake me and I'm a fairly light sleeper.

Fabulous Bed
Easy to assemble in just a few minutes - all parts including the only tool needed - a hex wrench is included. The frame has little 'stops' that keep the slats stretched tight and in place - no need to screw the slats down (cleaver). It is very sturdy and is nice and high off the floor allowing for easy vacuuming and under the bed storage. Looks great. A really nice added bonus is that it is solid oak and made in the USA (Pennsylvania). Ikea can not compare with the quality and price of this bed (- been there done that).
I love it!
I am completely satisfied with this product and with the service I received from the manufacturer. Shortly after I placed my order, the manufacturer e-mailed me to let me know that there would be a brief delay in getting the oak to make my bed. They gave me a forecast of the new delivery date and offered me the option to cancel the order or go with the new date. They also assured me that my credit card would not be charged until the product shipped.

I chose to go with the new date and the bed was delivered on the date forecast. It was beautifully made, easy to assemble, and is very comfortable. I'm also very pleased with the price.

Excellent Quality
This bed is so sturdy! The matresses are comfy and I know this bed will last for years! It was heavy, and you will need some help setting it up (Needs 2 people), but the end result is fantastic.

Solid as Wood
I wanted to say Solid as a Rock but this furniture is not made of rock. After we assembled it, we were surprised at how strong it is. If you bump into it it will not budge. The instructions were easy with clear diagrams. You definitly need two brains to put it together so get help. 9 inch mattresses are a dream, very firm, I feel they wont flatten out like some other much thinner foam types. Sleeping 3 adults indicates a durability that surpasses much higher priced Futon Bunk beds. And speaking of price, If you are budget concience, This is for you. During my searches, I've found all wood Futon Bunk Beds that were nearly twice the price for just the frame alone. I feel I made a wise choice choosing this product. Room Doctor, You rock!
